PRP, or Platelet-Rich Plasma, is a medical treatment that involves drawing a small amount of a person’s blood, processing it in a centrifuge to separate the plasma (liquid part of the blood), and then injecting the concentrated plasma into the scalp to promote hair growth and treat hair loss.
The concentrated platelets in the plasma contain growth factors which will stimulate hair follicles to grow new hair again.
What is the process?
It starts with an initial consultation where we will answer any questions you have, take a look at your scalp and discuss your goals for the treatment as well as what kind of success we can expect based on the current state of your hair.
After the initial consultation, the actual treatments will take about 30 minutes. Each treatment is done with a topical numbing cream as well as a numbing spray. The discomfort is minimal and there’s no downtime. You can return to all activities immediately following the treatment however we will provide you with some basic instructions to optimize the results between treatments.
For people looking for hair growth, we generally recommend between 3-5 sessions, once per month, with results starting to show around month 3.
For people looking to prevent hair thinning or want help maintaining their current hair if the thinning process has just started, we can often perform 1 or 2 treatment sessions per year to maintain current hair and prevent thinning.
For individuals who’ve had a hair transplant procedure (FUE or FUT) and want to receive their yearly “booster” treatment to help extend the life of their procedure, we can provide those as well.
All PRP for hair loss treatments are $750
